DevOpsDays Singapore 2018

DevOpsDays Singapore 2018 was here
This year I was lucky enough to attend this event again. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it, it retained the single-track style, which meant it was easy to catch all the talks and also contributed to the cozy feel of the event, it wasn’t too busy. As always, I again found the hallway conversations one of the best parts of the event - the smart people that have gathered together and the setting & context provided by the conference ensured there were plenty of interesting topics to discuss.

Notes from Geekcamp Singapore 2017
Somewhat unsurprisingly, I’m arriving late, but thankfully still find some breakfast being served, nice :) I have just have enough time before the next talk starts to chat with a person from Zendesk (they’re one of the sponsors and actually paid for all the coffee, thanks!). Zendesk seem to be all over the radar recently - hosting a “wine & dine” aka “we’re hiring” event a few weeks ago and coming up high in a recent review of best places to work at; good for them.

SREcon17 Asia/Singapore

Report from SREcon17 Asia/Australia in Singapore
This is my first attendance to SREcon (or any other USENIX conference for that matter), so I decide to arrive early to mingle over breakfast. Somewhat surprisingly, there are only a dozen or so people here (the rest are arriving late I subsequently find). Breakfast is pretty good and even the pre-brewed coffee is drinkable, so that’s a good start. I notice that Facebook have a desk with people present already, maybe they’re still jetlagged, most of them are from USA or European offices.

ProductCamp Singapore vol. 7

Notes from ProductCamp Singapore Volume 7
Here are some of my impressions from the ProductCamp Singapore Volume 7 event yesterday. Overall I had a good time and there seemed to be quite a few smart people around. I had several stimulating conversations that made me think of new things or see old things in new light. If anything, I would’ve liked to have more time for free-form discussion and chat after the event, as there were a couple of topics and people I didn’t get to speak with much.
